Summer Days and Finishing the Soccer Season!

We got lost a little bit in having some extra time to ourselves when school ended.  Funny how it still seems to get filled up without you even realizing it though.  We've been enjoying the warmer weather and getting some fun and crafts on too!

Ruby and Rowland have actually been playing together a bit more lately.  Mostly Ruby bosses/chases/sometimes drags him around and he usually laughs about it all.  They good sports with each other. :)

I think Ruby might seem him a little bit like a pet. ;)

Steve took the kids to see the new Jungle Book movie (which is a little scary at some parts).  They went to bed that night with the light on...and I had to take a picture with their sweet faces.

Ruby also got a special package in the mail just for her from Grammy Joanne - and a special note included!  (Which she carried around all afternoon). A pinkalicious coloring book is perfect!

Playing around with Ruby's hair more.  I love it!

Rowland brought a painting jacket over to Steve to put on him and then promptly picked up the broom to help clean.  I hope this tendency sticks!

Ruby discovered a cool thing she could do with her dress... ;)

So we've done a countdown to going to Disneyland for approximately 46 days (no joke).  The kids like to play "We're Going to Disneyland" with packing up, driving in the car, riding the elevator and escalators, getting on the airplane, driving to the hotel, arriving at Disneyland, then going home to go to sleep...repeat. Haha!

We got creative with an egg carton and painted some flowers.  Ross did the blue ones and Ruby of course chose pink. :)

Rowland has also tried out the ol' olive on the finger appetizer.  He was quite amuse. ;)

One year old tantrums are pretty cute (after you have other kids of course).  This one was because all he wanted to do was play in the sandbox instead of go to bed.

We sorted rocks and played in the sand the next day to make up for Rowly's devestation. ;)

Ruby was banned to the steps to finish that sandwich that took her 2 hours to eat!! (She did eat it eventually)

And here is our happy boy in his box of sand. ;)

So Ruby was giving me a hard time during dinner one evening, and I look over to see this!

We had a BBQ at our friends' house and it was complete with a laser lights dance party.  Ruby was in TOTAL heaven. :)

They even had smores.  Ross and Ruby mostly preferred the marshmallows. :)

So we went to the Circus!!  It was kind of impromptu since I got my hands on some free kids tickets.  It was kind of a ghetto-ish little circus (what kind of traveling circus isn't these days though right?) but Ross and Ruby were eating it Up!!!

Ruby's favorite was the clown that kept coming out and when he cried (spraying everyone in the audience) she talked about it for two days afterwards.  She LOVED the woman's routine on the rings too.

The jugglers blew Ross's mind and his very favorite, of course, was the motorcycle cage that had THREE riders in it.  All I could think the entire circus, was how these performers could fall and break their necks at any moment!!!!  No safety nets/harnesses - nothing!!!  It was amazing!

Occasionally in the mornings I wake up to find THIS in my bed. ;)

At the park one day we found a toad.  I kept calling it a frog and Ross would correct me.  They all took turns holding it.  I was surprised Ross held it - he's not usually into squirmy things touching him!

Nothing like a poofy skirt. ;)

Ross's soccer season was pretty fast this year. (I mostly spent it on the sidelines chasing Rowland off the field).  He had a lot of fun, and is still working on getting in the mess of everything to get the ball, but he had a fun team and great coaches! ;)

Coach Steve ;)

Sometimes being a robot on the field is cool. ;)

Good game!!!

Cute kids!  Steve, Devlyn, Caleb, Wyatt, Mae, Colby, someone I don't know, Jace in the back, Emery, Ross, Avery, and Kahler with Coach Steve and Coach Travis!  So fun!

A seasoned soccer player, a beginner soccer player, and a future soccer player! ;)

I found some magnifying glasses for 97 cents at the store so we had some fun exploring and looking for bugs to look at.

It was pretty hot that day so not many bugs were out and about.

Ross's new passion in life is building Lego ships...like any chance he can (and lobbying Mom or Dad to build them with him).  Mom's new passion is keeping those darn things off the floor so Rowland doesn't swallow them!

We have our light saber guy, a cage for their pet shark, and a robot flying the ship.

Had a family video game night....Ross learning the ropes, Ruby thinking she's playing the ropes, and Rowland wondering what the heck they're doing. ;)

Got his own controller eventually. ;)

This little guy was getting some more teeth in so we tried out a popsicle to soothe some sore gums. :)

And we watched this handsome guy cut our fabulous looking grass!

Ruby also found a new hairstyle involving blocks.

The other afternoon we were all piled on the couch watching a church show.  Steve moved down onto the floor for some more room....and I got the couch all to myself. ;)
