Rowland Turns 1!!

It's ringing true with each kid, time goes much faster than you wish it to go.  This year with Rowland flew by and I can't believe my third little baby has decided to move up in the world along with his siblings.

Rowland had a sweet little birthday with our family which included naps, his favorite foods, and a birthday cake that stressed him out!

As with each of my kids, we went with a favorite book themed birthday.  For Rowland, our happy, curious little guy we did Curious George complete with cake pops and a monkey cake. :)

Rowland is weighing in at 21lbs. the 31st percentile and 27 1/2 inches long 30th percentile.  His head circumference is 18 1/2 inches - 35th percentile. He's still our little, short guy who is by far our snuggliest baby.  He will lay his head on my shoulder, tuck his little arms in, and poke his little bum up.  It's my favorite thing in the world.  If he wakes up early before the other kids, he's really good to just lay down with me on the couch and let me hold him for a good 15 minutes.

A Birthday Morning

To get him to sit for 2.5 seconds he must have something in his hands!
Rowland is still our ultimate chuckler, laughing at everyone and everything.  I try to get him to mimic words, but he just laughs at me.  He will mimic silly sounds though.  Such a boy. ;) If I scrunch my nose up and snort in and out, Rowland does it too.  It's hilarious :)

When he's upset at you he takes his binky out and throws it or lays his head down on the ground to whine and cry.  He loves to follow his brother and sister around and see if he can steal anyone's toy when they're not looking.  He just looks at them and laughs afterwards and then no one can be mad at him.  He's going to get away with murder I think!

Our little monkey :)

I just LOVE those brown eyes!

The end of the sign...
He adores his daddy and crawls right over to him whenever he gets home.  He can crawl up the stairs, but is still figuring out going down which stresses his mother out.  He'll get there though.

Not walking yet, but pulling himself up to anything and cruising around!

Lasagne and broccoli for dinner! LOVED the lasagne - not so much the broccoli.

Our monkey cake pops :)

The monkey cake!
 Some of Rowland's favorite things:
Snuggling
strawberries
cheerios or puffs
green beans
bananas
peas
crawling somewhere he's not allowed and then laughing in delight when you find him
sleeping on his tummy (and drooling like crazy while he sleeps)
grabbing and pinching faces
turning the pages of books
laughing laughing laughing!

Definitely preferred the cake pop.

I'm just relishing in the times I still get to hold this little guy with his cute feet resting on my leg.
We thoroughly enjoy our little Rowland and are so happy he's part of our family! It wouldn't be the same without him! Happy 1st Birthday Rowly!

Some In-Between-ness

A few things we did in January also included:

Sporting cute winter hats

Some brown eyed boys hanging out outside :)

Ross taking a picture of his cousin Jaxton to school for show and tell with the letter J

Some new "pretty shoes" from Grammy Joanne!

Family movie night!  With a sneaker baby who tried to steal everyone's popcorn.

Had some friends over!

This kid started pulling himself up things and doing some cruising!  (Seriously - no one stays little around here!)

Goofy face time!

I'm sure Steve's feeling extremely attracted to me in this picture. ;)

I love catching my kids enjoying books together.  It makes my teacher heart so happy!

Ross wanted to put on Daddy's hat...and then he looked like he was 8 years old. NOT okay with me!

Love this sweet boy!

Ross was invited to a pre-school friend's birthday party.  This was his first time bowling! (How have we not gone before now???)

Had PLENTY of time to take a picture before the ball reached the pins. ;) Ross had a BLAST!

Pizza night afterwards!

Caught them again playing together - LOVE it.

There was a formal daddy-daughter dance in our little town for all girls 0-12 years old.  Dressing up and dancing??  I thought Ruby would be ALL over this!  She looked SO pretty and Steve was excited to take her. :)

This was taken right when they got there.  SO cute!
Due to a no-nap day, not going to eat until late, and a huge cake that wasn't being served yet that a certain newly 3 year old desperately wanted to the point of a meltdown, the night was cut short and ended with a vanilla ice cream cone with Daddy instead.  We'll try again next year. ;)

This face is taunting me that he's going to be turning 1 in a matter of days...

Ross had such a good time bowling we decided to do it for family night. :)

Ruby lasted about 4 frames and then just wanted to dance and test out the arcade games. ;)

And I LOVE this boy's scrunchy nose smile!  He knows he cutes and flashes it everywhere! :)
And a birthday song for Auntie Meghan ;)
