Pretty by about the time I was okay with the fact that Ross was in preschool was when he had his last day...I don't think I'm going to be able to cope with him in Kindergarten. Can't we rewind and relive the last year?
He has LOVED LOVED LOVED Preschool. His teachers were always so sweet with him, and he made some best buddies there - Jace, Ezekiel, Caleb, and Nathaniel were ones I heard about ALL the time.
Finishing school he was sad to say good-bye to everyone and his fun classroom. He kept asking if it was a school day for the week after it was all done. I'm so glad he's loved school.
Cutest Preschooler Around! Last Day of School!
Goofball!
They FINALLY got him more into coloring (I could barely get him to do a few scribbles here and there before), amazing with his letters, sounds, and sounding out words, counting and adding really improved, and I have learned that his teacher's (according to Ross) know all and he would even refer to them over me! :) He is definitely academically ready for Kindergarten. His mama is just not emotionally ready for it.
Ross in the middle wearing green and glasses :)
His teacher, Mrs. Forbes, and Mrs. Gadash were fantastic!
Always giving me silly faces!
Finally got a normal face one. :)
Back to silly!
I wonder where he gets it from??? ;)
My cute graduate!
His buddy Ezekiel wanted to give him a hug after the ceremony. Sweet kid. They were good friends. :)
And this girl keeps asking when it's her turn for Preschool! Slow down girl!
After getting back and seeing what a forest our grass was becoming while it attached its roots to the soil, we realized we needed a lawn mower. Steve had a patient who fixed a broken one that one of his co-workers was so nice to give him. We headed down to pick it up and had lunch and played at their fun park with Steve. It's always fun having lunch with Daddy!
Tractor riding is a must.
Rowland was doing lots of exploring and the inspecting of sticks.
He takes his exploring seriously.
We got home and I gave the kids some popsicles. Rowland was whining for one, so I said, "Ross, can you give your brother a lick please?"....and that's exactly what happened. Rowland was left in confusion and with a sticky forehead. Haha!
We also had to celebrate and have a birthday party for Daddy with the kids. So we had his favorite dinner (italian pork - season pork chops, heat a little olive oil and garlic in the pan, then brown the sides of the pork, put in crock pot with chunky spaghetti sauce poured over it. Serve over pasta and top with mozzarella) and birthday cake afterwards. The kids gave him the movie Space Jam and some squirt guns for the summer. :) I think 30 looks pretty good on him. ;)
Happy 30th Daddy!
Ruby was all over blowing out the candles for him...
I also gave in and finally cut my baby's hair (sniff). It was starting to turn into a mullet, so we had to do something about it. It looks SO much better, but now my baby doesn't look so much like a baby anymore and more like a little boy!
Ready for some haircuts!
15 months and he's finally getting his hair in!
All done! He wasn't even scared of the clippers, so I got a half decent cut in!
That weekend Steve was amazing and let me sneak away for an over-nighter with my girlfriends to Denver. We had an absolute blast. We got there for a late dinner at Red Robin, went to the movies to see Mother's Day, and then stayed up way to late talking (some didn't even really go to bed!). We got up the next morning, grabbed breakfast and then hit the stores. We got some fun shopping in, had lunch at the DELICIOUS Kneaders, shopped some more, had Costa Vida for dinner and then headed home. It was so fun getting to know some of the other ladies better and not stressing about kids! (Though I acknowledge the weekend before I ALSO got that gift!!) It really was a fantastic weekend.
Meena, Rindy (doing it celebrity style!) Jenny, me, Michelle, and Robin. A super awesome, chill group. We had a blast!
Sampling the baked goods at Kneader's...
Tired, worn out, maybe a little loopy, but definitely happy!
And let this be the first girl's trip of more to come!
I got back in time for an awesome Mother's Day on Sunday. After church we had an AMAZING dinner of ribs, homemade guacamole and chips, and corn on the cob. SUPER good. AND I got to have an AMAZING nap waking up (to top it off) to a clean kitchen! My life was made! I sure love my cute kids and wonderful husband who make being a mother everything I dreamed it could be. It's definitely hard work being a mom (mentally alone I think I'm going crazy) but I wouldn't have any other job in the world!
YUM!
Love these cute kids!
I just love Rowly's face in this one. :)
AND a Happy Happy Mother's Day to the wonderful mother's in my life. My mother is my amazing do-it-all example and best friend. She is always thinking of others, doing all the little small things that make people feel loved and remembered. She's always up for trying something new, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and most importantly, she loves the Lord. My mother-in-law is always serving, helping, offering. She's always up for fun and focusing on family. She is a woman of faith and conviction as well which is a wonderful example to me. My wonderful grandmother's have given me fantastic memories from my childhood, love my own children, and are always happy to listen to me go on about my kids. They are WONDERFUL grandmothers. I am so blessed with wonderful women in my life.
Rowly and Great Grandma Staheli :)
Our 4 Generation Picture of girls. LOVE it!
Rowland acting like he's 2 or something with Grandma Claudia. Love this!
